"Riga Unified Ticket" Expanded – One Ticket Will Now Be Valid Across All Vivi Train Zones and Riga Public Transport
Starting August 26, the "Riga Unified Ticket" is available across all Vivi train route zones. It will allow passengers to make a single train journey in zones A, B, C, D, or E with one ticket and continue their trip using a 90-minute ticket on all "Rīgas satiksme" buses, trams, and trolleybuses, saving one euro on every trip.
Following this expansion, the unified ticket will be available across the entire Tukums and Skulte lines, as well as the Riga–Jelgava, Riga–Aizkraukle, and Riga–Sigulda routes. The prices of the unified ticket by train zone are:
- Zone A – €2.00;
- Zone AB – €2.80;
- Zone AC – €3.30;
- Zone AD – €3.80;
- Zone AE – €4.30.
The ticket is available exclusively in digital format – on the "Vivi Latvija" mobile app and website vivi.lv. It is valid on the specified date until 2:59 AM of the following day.
The order of ticket registration does not matter – the trip can be started either with the train or with "Rīgas satiksme" transport. If the "Rīgas satiksme" transport trip is registered first, the 90-minute countdown begins. Conversely, if the train ticket is registered first, the public transport portion becomes active only after it is registered.
Passengers can purchase multiple "Riga Unified Tickets" for a single day, as well as plan trips in advance for up to nine days.
For journeys on diesel train formations, as with other Vivi tickets, a specified surcharge applies.
The Riga Unified Ticket was introduced as a pilot project in July 2025, providing the opportunity to purchase a discounted single train day ticket for travel on zone A train routes, including connecting services in this zone, as well as a single Rīgas satiksme 90-minute ticket. More than 3,000 tickets are sold every month. In 2025, over a five-month period, more than 14,000 tickets were purchased, and in the first seven months of this year, more than 23,200 tickets.
The pilot project has been extended until the end of this year to continue evaluating passenger demand, system performance, and user experience, as well as to identify necessary improvements before making a decision on permanent implementation.
